What is Homemade Fresh Peach Ice Cream?
Homemade Fresh Peach Ice Cream is a classic summer treat made from scratch using ripe, juicy peaches. It’s a creamy, frozen dessert that combines sweetened cream and milk with fresh peach purée or chunks, then churned in an ice cream maker (or stirred by hand if you’re going no-churn).
I love my Kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker attachment for my stand mixer but this recipe should work with any brand ice cream maker.
What makes it special is the use of real, seasonal peaches—not artificial flavors—so every bite bursts with natural sweetness and a bit of tartness from the fruit.
The texture is rich and velvety, and it often has small peach bits for extra flavor and a touch of rustic charm.
It’s a nostalgic dessert that brings back memories of summer gatherings, family cookouts, and backyard fun—cooling everyone down one scoop at a time.
Perfect on its own, in a cone, or paired with pound cake or cobbler.
Ingredients
- Fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- Heavy cream
- Whole milk
- Granulated sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Lemon juice
- Pinch of salt

How to make Homemade Fresh Peach Ice Cream
In a medium bowl, toss the peaches with ¼ cup of the sugar and lemon juice.
Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate and draw out juices.

Use a blender, food processor, or potato masher to puree the peaches to your desired texture (smooth or slightly chunky).

In a separate large bowl, whisk together the remaining ½ cup sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla, and salt until sugar is dissolved.

Stir in the peach puree.

Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2–4 hours (or overnight) until very cold.

Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker.

Churn according to manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–25 minutes).

Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Serve it up and enjoy a little slice of summer with your favorite people.
