Even though it’s been a little warm in Minnesota again, I’m really starting to get into fall flavors, getting ready to slow down and be a little more cozy. Plus, I’m looking for recipes to make with the apples from our apple trees and our trips to local orchards.
I found this recipe for Apple Pie Spiced Glazed Walnuts on McCormick’s website when I was looking for apple recipes, obviously it doesn’t actually have apples in it but the fall flavor is still there.
These walnuts are everything you love about fall wrapped up in one bite! They have the warm spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, and coated in a sticky, sweet glaze, reminding me of the comforting flavors of a freshly baked apple pie.
They’re perfect for just munching on but they also go great on a nice fall salad or even oatmeal at breakfast. There’s a recipe for a nice fall Mixed Green Salad with Apple Pie Vinaigrette on McCormick’s website that I’m going to make next and top with the walnuts, that sounds amazing!
Let me know if you try them and what creative ways you find to enjoy these tasty walnuts.
Happy snacking!
What are Apple Pie Spiced Glazed Walnuts?
Apple Pie Spiced Glazed Walnuts are a delicious snack made by coating walnuts in a blend of spices typically found in apple pie, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, along with a sweet glaze, often made from sugar or maple syrup.
The walnuts are usually baked or roasted to develop a crunchy texture and caramelized coating. These walnuts have a warm, cozy flavor reminiscent of apple pie and are great for snacking, adding to salads, or using as a topping for desserts like yogurt, oatmeal, or ice cream.
