When my kids were young they loved cupcakes, but they were always thrilled when I made Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. I recently made them for my granddaughters 4th birthday and they were a huge hit!
What are Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes?
They are ice cream cones filled with cake batter, baked, and then topped with frosting that’s piped on to look like a soft-serve ice cream cone. Flat bottom ice cream cones work much better than waffle cones.
Ingredients
- Funfetti Cake Mix (or your favorite type of cake mix) and the ingredients according to the cake mix directions
- Ice Cream Cones (Flat bottom ice cream cones work the best)
- Frosting (premade frosting or homemade frosting)
- Multi-Colored Sprinkles
How to make Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Mix the cake mix according to the package directions.
Place the cones in the baking rack and then fill each cone half full with the batter.
Bake at 350° F for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcake comes out clean.
Cool the cupcakes completely before frosting.
You can make your own frosting or use store bought frosting.
Add the frosting to a piping bag and frost each cupcake to look like a soft serve ice cream cone.
Top with sprinkles and enjoy!
