What are Cake Mix Toffee Bars?
Cake Mix Toffee Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines the convenience of a cake mix with the rich, buttery flavor of toffee. These bars are an awesome combination of chewy, crunchy, and gooey textures, making them a popular treat for parties, potlucks, or any occasion that calls for a sweet indulgence.
Ingredients
- Yellow cake mix
- Butter
- Egg
- Semisweet chocolate chips
- Coarsely chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans, or peanuts)
- Sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
- Toffee baking bits
How to make Cake Mix Toffee Bars
Preheat the oven to 350° and grease a 9×13 pan.
Mix the cake mix, butter, and egg in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until blended and crumbly.
Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and nuts with a wooden spoon.
Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the crumb mixture. Firmly press the remaining crumb mixture into prepared pan.
Bake 15 minutes.
Pour the condensed milk evenly over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the toffee bits. Sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture and remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup toffee bits.
Transfer to wire rack and cool completely. Cut into bars.
