Cheerios Energy Bars are another recipe that I found on the Cheerios website, the original recipe called for Banana Nut Cheerios but since I had Honey Nut Cheerios I decided to use that instead. These little bars are super easy to make and a great for breakfast or a snack.

What are Cheerios Energy Bars?
Cheerios Energy Bars are a snack that combines the nutritional benefits of breakfast cereal with the convenience of a bar. They are made with wholesome ingredients, making them the perfect on-the-go snack.
Ingredients
- Cheerios cereal
- Sweetened dried cranberries
- Slivered almonds, toasted
- Roasted unsalted sunflower seeds
- Light corn syrup
- Brown sugar
- Creamy peanut butter
- Vanilla

How to make Cheerios Energy Bars
To toast almonds, sprinkle in ungreased heavy skillet. Cook over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently until almonds begin to brown, then stirring constantly until almonds are light brown.

Spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix cereal, cranberries, almonds and sunflower nuts.

In 2-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, brown sugar and peanut butter to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

Pour syrup mixture over cereal mixture; toss to coat.

Press firmly in pan. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows and serve.
