Rice Krispie Bars

Rice Krispie Bars

I know you can just buy Rice Krispie Bars in a box at the store but it’s just not even close to same as making them from scratch. That being said not all homemade Rice Krispie Bars are the same, you definitely have to use real butter and I prefer a few more marshmallows than the original recipe calls for.

Rice Krispie Bars are one of those classic desserts that evoke nostalgia with every crunchy, chewy bite. With just a few ingredients and no baking required, they’ve held a special place in the hearts of both kids and adults since they first appeared in the 1930s.

But while the original recipe has stayed timeless, there are now endless ways to dress up and elevate these simple squares! Once you’ve mastered the classic, you can try making Cocoa Krispie Bars or one of my favorites Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Bars.

Rice Krispie bars are a crowd-pleasing favorite for a reason: they’re easy to make, endlessly customizable, and deliciously satisfying. Whether you stick to the traditional recipe or go wild with fun additions, you’re guaranteed a treat that’s perfect for all ages.

What are Rice Krispie Bars?

Rice Krispie bars (or Rice Krispie treats) are a classic no-bake dessert made with just a few simple ingredients: puffed rice cereal (usually Rice Krispies), melted marshmallows, and butter. The result is a sweet, chewy, and crispy snack that’s easy to make and loved by all ages.

The texture is both crunchy and gooey, with a hint of buttery richness.

They can also be customized with mix-ins like chocolate chips, peanut butter, crushed cookies, or even colorful sprinkles, making them versatile for any occasion.
