Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups sliced Chinese cabbage
  • 3 cups thinly sliced celery
  • 1 can bean sprouts drained
  • 1 can water chestnuts sliced
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups sliced cooked chicken cut into slivers
  • chow mein noodles

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil, salt and pepper in a deep skillet or wok.
  • Add cabbage, celery, bean sprouts, water chestnuts and sugar.
  • Stir in chicken broth and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl blend cornstarch, water and soy sauce together.
  • Add to vegetable mixture and stir until mixture thickens.
  • Add chicken and heat thoroughly.
  • Serve over white rice and crunchy chow mein noodles. Chopsticks are optional.
