Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cups cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, quickly whisk together milk, eggs, and oil.
  • Gradually add this liquid mixture to the bowl of dry ingredients, stirring gradually until just combined. Don’t overmix – you want to keep the ingredients from getting tough!
  • Spray a 9×13 cake pan with non-stick food spray and evenly spread the cornmeal batter inside. For perfect results, use a spatula to make sure it’s spread across the whole pan!
  • Bake your dish to golden brown perfection in 20-25 minutes.
  • Cool and serve with butter and honey.
