Once again I had some ripe bananas that I didn’t want to waste and I have this cookbook Cooking With Bananas: Breads, Cakes, Puddings & More! and since the recipe for Chocolate Banana Muffins was such a hit, I figured that would be a good place to find another recipe.

We were having a little bit of a heat wave here again when I decided to try out this recipe, with heat index above 100° I figured I would make this on the Traeger instead of heating up the house. Banana Almond Bread is already a delicious treat, but making it on a Traeger grill takes it to a whole new level!

The smoky flavor from the wood pellets adds a unique depth to the bread, complementing the natural sweetness of the bananas and the nuttiness of the almonds

I think my husband would be content to just keep having me make Classic Banana Bread and as much as I love that recipe too sometimes I just want something a little different.

I loved this bread, it’s very similar to the banana bread that we grew up with but the crunch comes from the chopped almonds instead of walnuts and the flavor was awesome!

  • Granulated sugar

How to make Banana Almond Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan with non stick cooking spray.

In a mixing bowl, add the banana, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until the batter is well combined.

Add the all purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and almonds. Stir only until the batter is moistened and combined.

Spoon the batter into the prepared pan.

Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.
Remove the bread from the oven .
