Caramelized Onion Dip

Caramelized Onion Dip

I love dips, it’s so fun to mix a few ingredients together and have something awesome to dip chips or veggies. I’ve been making my Homemade French Onion Chip Dip for several years now ever since I needed a quick dip when we had surprise cookout guests and I didn’t have time to run to the store but I wanted to try making a dip with fresh ingredients.

I wanted to keep this recipe simple and just bring out the flavors of the caramelized onion, which is the most time consuming part of making this dip. After the onions are done cooling then this Caramelized Onion Dip comes together really quickly.

One of the best parts of making my own dip is knowing that all the ingredients are fresh and not something full of preservatives and that really comes out in the amazing flavor.

Obviously store bought dips are more convenient but it’s definitely worth it to take the time to make your own dip. Whether you’re hosting a game night, a holiday party, or simply looking for a tasty snack, this Caramelized Onion Dip is guaranteed to impress!

What is Caramelized Onion Dip?

Caramelized Onion Dip is a delightfully savory and sweet appetizer that offers a tantalizing blend of flavors. It is made by slowly cooking onions until they achieve a deep, rich caramel color, unlocking their inherent sweetness. This delicious mash is then mixed with a base, often a combination of sour cream and mayonnaise, adding a tangy note that perfectly complements the sweetness of the onions.
