Cherry Cobbler
When the leaves start to change and the days get a little cooler, I always find myself reaching for warm, comforting desserts. And nothing says cozy fall baking quite like a bubbling fruit cobbler straight out of the oven.
One of my favorites comes from a cookbook that’s been well-loved in my kitchen—Quick and Easy Autumn from Gooseberry Patch. Their Cherry Cobbler is simple, nostalgic, and exactly the kind of recipe you’ll want to make on repeat this season.
There’s something about Cherry Cobbler that feels like home. The combination of sweet, tart cherries with a golden, buttery crust is pure comfort food.
Gooseberry Patch recipes are known for being simple and reliable. Which makes them perfect for busy weeknights or when you want to throw together a dessert without a big grocery list.
This Cherry Cobbler uses basic pantry staples and a can of cherry pie filling. So you can whip it up in minutes and still end up with a dessert that tastes like you spent all afternoon baking.
It’s the kind of recipe you’ll keep in your back pocket for holidays, Sunday dinners, or when the craving for something cozy strikes.
Why I Love Gooseberry Patch Recipes
If you’ve never cooked from a Gooseberry Patch cookbook, you’re in for a treat. Their recipes are always approachable, family-friendly, and filled with that nostalgic, homemade charm that reminds me of recipes passed down from my grandmother.
Quick and Easy Autumn is packed with seasonal recipes for every fall occasion—soups, casseroles, snacks, and of course, cozy desserts like this cherry cobbler.

What is Cherry Cobbler?
Cherry Cobbler is a classic American dessert that’s made with sweet, juicy cherries baked underneath (or sometimes on top of) a biscuit-like or cake-like topping.
Unlike pie, which has a structured crust on the top and bottom, cobbler is more rustic and simple.
You spoon a thick batter or dough into a baking dish, add the fruit filling. As it bakes, the topping rises up around the fruit, creating a golden, buttery crust with bubbling fruit peeking through.
