Ingredients
  

Donuts

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted

Topping

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Donuts
  • Preheat oven or Traeger smoker to 325° F. Grease the donut pans with cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In a small bowl, combine apple cider, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract and melted butter.
  • Add the liquid ingredients to the flour mixture, mix well until blended together.
  • Transfer the batter to a piping bag, cut the tip off and fill 12 donut cups 3/4 full.
  • Bake donuts for 13 minutes until the spring back when touched.
  • Allow the donuts to cool just slightly before removing them from the pan.
  • Topping
  • In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Brush each donut with the melted butter and then coat in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  • Serve and enjoy!
