The weather in Minnesota couldn’t be further from crisp fall temps, we’ve been having excessive heat advisories this week, but I was craving these amazing donuts so I made them on the Traeger instead of the oven. Same delicious taste without heating up the house more than it already is.

Donuts

  • All-purpose flour
  • Granulated sugar
  • Baking powder
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Apple cider
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Butter

Topping

  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Butter

How to make Baked Apple Cider Donuts

Preheat oven or Traeger smoker to 325° F. Grease the donut pans with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In a small bowl, combine apple cider, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract and melted butter.

Add the liquid ingredients to the flour mixture, mix well until blended together.

Transfer the batter to a piping bag, cut the tip off and fill 12 donut cups 3/4 full.

Bake donuts for 13 minutes until the spring back when touched. 

Allow the donuts to cool just slightly before removing them from the pan.

In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar and ground cinnamon. 

Brush each donut with the melted butter and then coat in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Serve and enjoy!
