What is Homemade Granola?
Homemade Granola is a versatile, nutrient-rich food often consumed for breakfast or snacking. It involves a unique combination of rolled oats, nuts, and honey or other sweeteners, mixed together and baked until crispy. This concoction can be customized according to individual preferences with the addition of seeds, dried fruits, spices, or even chocolate chips for an added touch of sweetness.

- Vegetable oil
- Honey
- Molasses
- Rolled oats
- Pecan pieces
- Walnut pieces
- Sesame seeds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Honey roasted sunflower seeds
How to make Homemade Granola
Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet pan.
Combine the vegetable oil, honey, molasses in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook for about 2 minutes, until well blended and very hot.
Remove the mixture from the heat.
Combine the rolled oats, pecans, walnuts, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds in a large bowl.
Pour the honey mixture over the oat mixture and stir to combine. Make sure all the oats, nuts, and seeds are thoroughly coated.
Spread the granola out evenly on the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown. Be careful not to overbake it.
Remove the granola from the oven and allow it to cool completely. It will be crispy when it cools.
Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature. It should stay fresh for a couple of weeks.
